The IARU Presidents' meeting 2006 in Singapore decided to initiate a project entitled “The Transforming Power of Undergraduate Education”. The project aims to be a comparative study of undergraduate educational practices of IARU member institutions, leading to a richer understanding of best practices in undergraduate education for IARU members.

A workshop was subsequently held in Copenhagen in September 2006. The workgroup agreed that it would be useful to provide links to each participating university's websites, covering:

• Aspirational purposes of undergraduate education
• Best educational practice
• Reports/policies on importance of teaching in research-intensive universities
• E-learning courses and modules
