As China grows economically, politically, and culturally, the
importance of Chinese culture and Chinese identity in the 21st Century is fast
gaining interest from students around the world. This 4 week course will closely
examine the early dialogues of Plato (Euthyphro and Phaedo), as well as
representative tests of Confucius (the Book of changes, Traditional Chinese
Medicine and Tang Junyi on Chinese natural cosmology). Students will gain a greater appreciation of
Chinese philosophy, and be able to juxtapose lessons from its Western
