A one-day excursion related to the lecture will be organized for GSP students as part of the course. Students may take this course concurrently with Japan in Today's World, Sustainable Urban Management and Introduction to the Japanese Language GSP courses offered by the University of Tokyo. “I have a
very strong background in the fields of biology and chemistry, but have a
very limited understanding of physics and engineering. I was somewhat worried about the third part
of the Nanoscience course, but the introductory lecture for this part was
extremely helpful and crucial to my subsequent understanding of the lectures
that followed.”

Berkeley
“I liked the general concept of the course. I do
not mind that some topics were harder and some already known as this is
inevitable in a course with such a variety of students attending.”

Zurich
